Showered With Love in Detroit

Pink little girl dress + shoes set the ambiance of the Detroit shower!
Nana decorated the tables with sweet white and pink flowers and yummy favors of chocolate dipped oreos.

Elizabeth, Isaih and Andrew peaked in on the decorating but the boys were quick to get out; too much pink!
I just love this shot.. E-beth looks so mature selecting her lunch entre set in front of the gifts.
Cousin Kim, Cousin Nicole, Aunt Linda and Aunt Agnes.
Aunt Carmen, Gisele, Monna, Jane and Erika.
Cousin Lauren, Aunt Kristen, Aunt Lisa, Aunt Lori and Cousin Ashley.
Three Musketeers!
Cousin Annie, Cousin Mary, Aunt Becky and Cousin Christine
David's Cousin's in Crime: Debbie, Serene, Jen, Laura and Darcey.
Kathy, Patty, Shirly, and Noreen

Fran, Angie, Doloras, Dee Dee and Rosie
David was a big help, opening and transporting the gifts; as well as Elizabeth who provided the gifts for us to open.

Chicago Shower

The shower was decorated in Yellow & Pink, just like the Nursery. Guest sipped on spritzers and took home organic jam.

These cupcakes were as good as they looked!
Melissa made the most scrumptious dishes including quiche, mellon wrapped in pruschito, fresh cucumber salad. Seriously, she needs to quit her day day job and start a catering co.
Little Sophia joined in on all the fun too.. Here with Mom Carrie.
Don't be fooled, the sunflower isn't just a centerpiece but a baby bath that goes in the sink!
Seriously, it is the cutest thing.
Moms Jenny and Katy (who is also a nurse) gave me the down and dirty on rectal thermometers. Can we say, "That will be Daddy's job!!!"
Kelly, Kristin and Jessica
Special thank you to the host Jayme, Katy and Melissa and to all the girls from left to right, Jessica, Jayme, Jenny, Katy, Kristin, Carrie, Melissa and Kelly for all the wonderful gifts. This little girl is so lucky!

Spartan Shower

Thank you Maggie, Karyn, Kerri and Linda for throwing us a wonderful Spartan Shower in Holland!
Grandma Pat drove down from Gaylord and NO, we didn't plan on matching but we looked cute!
Nana D drove in from D-town!
We played Name that Baby Tune, which was a ton of fun and guess my belly size,  which really surprised me by much yarn was actually needed to circle my growing belly.
Daddy came to help open and load gifts. Who knew baby poop bags were in our future for possible diaper blow outs in Target!
If our little girl is anything like her father, we will need a bigger house to store all the shoes!
Maggie made us an adorable pink album with each guest's advice next to our snapshot. I can't wait to walk through the album with the baby or when I'm pulling my hair out.

Week 28

Week 28th, I met my girlfriend Cindy and her boys in Lansing for dinner and Lug nuts Baseball game. Her boys are super sweet and really enjoyed the game. Her husband Joe cracks me up. They live in Florida and he loves MSU so much, he picked out a retirement home for them across Breslin Center.. I think they should buy it now as a summer home for her so we can hang out!!!

It has been in high 90s and even tipped 100s this week and so I've been drinking and retaining lots of water, which made me wonder .. really does where all that weight go anyway..the baby only weighs a around two pounds.. The American Pregnancy Association provided the following breakdown:

Where does all the extra weight go?

Here is an approximate breakdown of your weight gain:
  • Baby: 7-8 pounds
  • Placenta: 1-2 pounds
  • Amniotic fluid: 2 pounds
  • Uterus: 2 pounds
  • Maternal breast tissue: 2 pounds
  • Maternal blood : 4 pounds
  • Fluids in maternal tissue: 4 pounds
  • Maternal fat and nutrient stores: 7 pounds
